Minecraft 1.8 Update Video

Here is a great video of the new Minecraft 1.8 update.  Looks like tons of new stuff coming Minecraft's way.

From Notch:  Most of the basics of the game engine is in place, so it’s time to flesh this game out into something more gamey. More content, more exploration, more things to do, and interesting combat! Once this update is out, there will only some tweaks, optimizations and code cleanups left to the core game before we can call it a full release.

Patch 1.5 Video Snow and Rain

Minecraft Patch 1.5 Video Stats, Achievements, Snow and Rain.  Rain and especially thunder is waaay too common in this test, for demo purposes.



Patch 1.6: Trapdoors, Maps and Wild Grass!

Entertaining Minecraft Patch 1.6 video by the YogsCast.  In the video the demonstrate Trapdoors, Maps and WildGrass.  It talks about Mushrooms and mushroom farms.  The demonstrate the benefits of a trap door - by having a house with a the only entrance is a trap door. 

Maps can be drawn by the user. One neat thing about Maps is that you can actually walk off the map, just like in real life.

Minecraft 1.7 Update Video 2

Another video about the Minecraft 1.7 Update involving pistons from TeamMojang.  This is a demonstration of the piston block in Minecraft beta 1.7. The features of this block is mostly complete, but sound effects are missing.

The piston concept was originally developed by the Minecraft community member Hippoplatimus. Additional implementation details were supplied by DiEvAl.

Minecraft 1.6 Update Patch Video

Notch announced the update on Twitter and has graciously updated his blog to reflect the new changes launched today. As we recently mentioned (see: Minecraft Beta 1.6 Will Include Nether for Multiplayer) the new update is set to add multiplayer support for the netherworld and there are now working hatches and craftable maps, too!
